  • Cave of the Mounds â€“ A natural limestone cave located near Blue Mounds. The cave’s beauty comes from its many varieties of mineral formations called speleothems. Visitors also enjoy our Gemstone Mine, Fossil Dig, Butterfly Gardens, Amazing Rock/Gift Shops, Hiking/Biking Trails, Snack Bar, and Picnic Area.
  • Military Ridge State Trail â€“ A 40-mile long, recreational rail trail in Wisconsin. The trail largely parallels U.S. Highway 18 and U.S. Highway 151 between Dodgeville and Fitchburg. The land around the trail is primarily agricultural, but also includes woods, wetlands, prairies, villages, and small cities. The trail receives its name from Military Ridge Road, built by the Army in 1835 to connect Green Bay and Fort Crawford via Fort Win
  • The Trollway (Mount Horeb’s historic Main Street): Historic buildings and businesses, including Sjolinds Chocolate, the Open House Import Shop, and Duluth Trading Co.
  • Tyrol Basin â€“ A ski and snowboard area located in the town of Vermont, Dane County, near Mount Horeb. It has runs at beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert level. Tyrol Basin has 16 runs, of average size for Midwest hills. 
  • Stewart Lake County Park â€“ Great spot to bring family for kayaking, hiking or swimming.
  • Blue Mound State Park â€“ This is a wonderful state park. Trails are well signed. The towers are well maintained and the views are great. Cross-country ski trail in season with warming house available. Pets are welcome in Wisconsin State Parks but must be on a leash and under control at all times.
  • Schubert’s Diner & Bakery â€“ A great lunch spot in a historic business and building.
  • The Mount Horeb Public Library: A great community center with excellent staff!
