Cases of human trafficking have been recorded in every Wisconsin county, but the issue remains largely unseen by the public. Here are some resources to learn more about it and what is being done to combat the problem.
January is Human Trafficking Awareness month. As many of you know, Milwaukee, WI is known as a “mecca for sex trafficking”.
Educate ourselves! Human trafficking has become one of the most hidden crimes and the majority of victims rarely come forward to seek help because of fear. Let’s do our part, whether it is donating to a sex trafficking organization or educating ourselves and others.
This month we will be donating to Exploit No More, an organization that provides training and prevention education, legislative advocacy, crisis help, aftercare resources and support for victims and survivors in the Milwaukee area and beyond.
